Myponga Beach

It was such a lovely treat to have time down at the shack.  Les took some fantastic drone shots.

The old rickety bridge still stands after all these years.

Thats us, the first flat roof from the bottom, right hand side.
or below second from left.

Lulled to sleep with the crashing waves, (Les may say differently) and waking to the ever-changing shoreline.

We were lucky enough to see dolphins on more than one occasion, a whole pod of about 20 went through the morning Mum was with us.  Mum is my proof that I wasn't seeing things.

Another highlight was sharing this place with Grace and her boyfriend Brandon. Grace and I did the walk around the headland to Pebbly Beach, saw a snake (Eek) and some sleepy lizards (Shingle backs) taking in the sun.

Pebbly Beach

And being able to catch up with very old friends Mary and Nigel, (an old friendship, they aren't old, well no older than us anyway, so we will go with the not old bit)

And this shot is for you Nigel, the headland looking towards Carickalinga.

Back into Adelaide and we visited the Adelaide Central Market, so much produce, where do you start?

China Town right next door to the Central Market

And a quick trip around the Adelaide street racing circuit especially the famous "Stag Corner"

Grandfinal Day was spent cleaning the car and van ready to move on again, but of course we stopped for the action, and what a great result . Yay Brisbane.

Cheers

And now as hard as saying goodbye is - again, it is time to move on. So where to next ???????
                                                                             Stay tuned

Farewell Victoria

A final farewell and away we go, and I did get to see some Bunnies before leaving, but you have to look carefully, those wascally wabbits are fast.

So on our way west, passing the Southern point of the Grampians, Mt Sturgeon and Mt Abrupt

Before, yep you guessed it Hello S.A.

Our first camp was just over the border near Port MacDonnell, tucked in behind the sand dunes we were protected from the southerly winds, and even had a visitor to our camp

     Eight Mile Creek

We had a great time playing the tourist again, firstly over to Point Northumberland, the most Southerly point of S.A.  A pity about the weather so the views were a bit of a let down.

Then into Mt Gambier to check out the volcanic lakes, The Blue Lake, the Valley Lake, and the Little Blue Lake, if you are game you can swim at this one, it keeps itself at a cool 12° all year round. Considering the day was lucky to reach 10°, we should have gone in, it would have been like a warm spa.

The Blue Lake

Valley Lake

Little Blue Lake

Then for the creme de creme, the sunken gardens. I'll let the pictures tell the story.

And not to forget the smaller sunken garden in the middle of town

Our next stop was near Kingston, home to The Big Lobster

Had a beautiful view of the sunset over the Southern ocean from our campsite at The Granites, but unfortunately still not beach weather.

And then finally into Adelaide to camp on Mums front lawn, but not before a quick stop to enjoy the views of the Coorong

Central and Western Victorian

Travelled Westward to Bendigo to catch up with another mate, thanks to Murray and Helen for your hospitality and million dollar views.

Then on to a bit of an arty retreat in St Arnaud.

Also found some amazing history with the Lord Nelson Mine and the buildings and gardens around the town

Memorial to the Bore War

Queen Mary Botantical Gardens

Monument to first explorer to the area William John Wills (Burke and Wills)

And how can I forget the celebrations for another birthday

Les may want the number forgotten, but any birthday is worth celebrating.

From St Arnaud we travelled down through Ararat, and headed back to Dave & Julie's,

And another oops

We are so blesseed to have such great friends, distance hasn't diminished the bond between mates, and we look forward to returning the wonderful hospitality.

More Million dollar views of Lake Bolac with Van  tucked in behind Dave & Julie's place

Bright yellow of the canola fields around Lake Bolac

Always sad to say goodbye but looking forward to moving into S.A. this coming week.
